Seasons and Hunting Dates: The seasons for waterfowl run from the last week in September through the end of November. We plan to hunt until November 1st. After early November snows start, the birds are headed south. Hunts: We hunt waterfowl in the mornings. Traditional Delta Marsh Duck Hunts are in small canoe style boats with one guide and 2-3 clients. Field hunts for Snows/Blues, Canadas, and Ducks are from layout blinds and are usually one guide per 4-5 clients. Lake hunts for Ducks and Geese are from our larger boats with Beavertail Mud Motors and will be on either a shallow lake or, weather permitting, Lake Manitoba. We will arrange a variety of hunts to suit the interests of your group, and generally do not mix parties unless you have less than 4 hunters. Please keep in mind that some hunts are dependent upon calm weather for safety reasons.
Game: The Delta Marsh is legendary for its World Class Duck Hunting! You will see birds in far greater numbers than you could ever imagine. We shoot mixed limits of ducks including Mallard, Pintail, Teal, Widgeon, Bluebill, Redhead, Canvasbacks ...just about every duck that travels the Central and Mississippi Flyways! (limit of 8 per day). Our Canadian guides have been hunting the marsh their whole lives and know where these birds are. Our Field goose hunting is also fantastic. We shoot Canada Geese (limit of 4 or 5 per day) plus lots of Snow Geese (limit of 20 per day) and puddle ducks in the field. All birds shot will be processed and you can take them home (up to your state's possession limit), we can cook them, or donate them. We don't believe in wasting game. Local religious colonies and first nation groups will be happy to have any extra birds. |
